Congratulations! Let’s get to the Information.
I want to make information about birth and the results of research about birth freely available to everyone. I present all the accumulated knowledge I have gained in easy conversations, and take the time to fully explain and discuss the processes of pregnancy and birth. Together, I believe, we can achieve your best possible birth. The Facts are: having a Birth Doula reduces labor time, decreases the number of interventions and creates confident birthing partners.

A Doula for every Person
Everyone deserves continuous support throughout labor. I believe that every birth would be made better by acquiring a Doula. I have worked hard to gain the skills and knowledge to assist throughout a persons most memorable day, their birthday. As a member of Doulas of Eastern Idaho (DOE), I have the unique benefit of having many doulas and mothers to share knowledge and experience among; knowledge that we share with our clients. Being a member of a doula collaborative also means that there will always be someone to help.
As a Birth Doula I Provide
Prenatal Visits
Prenatal visits are the starting point for sharing information. There are typically three prenatal appointments. These appointments will include chatting about your birth history, setting up your birth plan, talking through unexpected events, setting up a support network for you, getting to know you and your partner and answering any questions that you might have.
Continuous Support
Assisting you through labor is my ultimate aspiration as a birth doula. My focus in labor is on whatever the birthing person needs. I provide support in the form of snacks, water, counter pressure, encouragement, position shifting, pain management techniques, sharing information and cheering. I will be with you from the beginning of labor until birth is complete. I provide lactation support and heavily advocate for the golden hour to be uninterrupted.
Postnatal Visits
Care does not stop after baby is born. Postnatal visits are to ensure you and baby are thriving. These visits are to check if your support network is working for you. I can supply contact information for specialists and other birth workers in the area if needed. These visits also give me a chance to allow a small self-care moment for parents. There are typically two postnatal visits.
Consulting
Every pregnancy comes with new questions or concerns. I am available to brainstorm ideas, talk through situations and provide solutions to you. Pulling from the collective knowledge of all the doulas in DOE, I’m positive we can find solutions to help address or completely overcome problems that arise. As a doula I cannot offer medical advice. I am always available to talk about options and alternatives.
Advocacy Practice
Together we will practice advocating for the birth you want. We will use knowledge to guide your decisions; empowering you to make informed choices about your birthing process. I will be available throughout the entire process to continue discussions.
Birthing Techniques
I am trained to help ease the intensity of labor. I provide comfort techniques, mental preparedness, partner coaching and physical support. I am trained in positional birthing utilizing the aid of a peanut ball. These positions and movements assist the baby through the pelvic openings.
